About the Role

The Medical Officer will work as part of a diverse and high-performing team of healthcare professionals in the Hospital's Intensive Care Unit and across medical/surgical wards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite medical care for patients at Calvary St Vincent's and St Luke's private hospitals.
  • Liaise directly with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) and onsite clinical staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Exercise independent judgement and make decisions in a fast-paced hospital environment.
  • Work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team to achieve excellent patient outcomes.
  • Manage time effectively to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

  • AHPRA registration (full)
  • Minimum PGY3/4 experience with a current ALS certification or evidence of airway management and ability to run Medical emergency or Code Blue
  • Ability to work in a flexible and adaptive manner to meet the needs of the hospital
  • Highly effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • A desire to work in a mission-based organization that prioritizes patient care
