Job Title: Lead Culinary Professional

Culinary Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Lead Culinary Professional to join our team at W Hotels Sydney. As a key member of the culinary department, you will be responsible for supporting the culinary leadership in achieving daily objectives.

The successful candidate will have previous experience working in a large/luxury full-service hotel environment, with a strong understanding of Australian/European cuisine. Excellent time management and communication skills are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Support the culinary leadership to achieve daily objectives
  • Coordinate service and timing of events and meals with restaurant and banquet departments
  • Lead shifts while preparing food items and executing requests based on required specifications
  • Participate in employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed
  • Supervise and mentor staffing to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives
  • Participate in department meetings and communicate clear and consistent message regarding departmental goals
  • Purchase supplies and manage food and supply inventories according to budget
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a large/luxury full-service hotel environment
  • Strong understanding of Australian/European cuisine
  • Excellent time management and communication skills
  • Basic administrative and computer skills
