Assistant Tailoring and Retail Specialist

This role involves comprehensive tailoring and medal mounting tasks, as well as supporting senior staff in day-to-day operations of a clothing store and retail service delivery to Defence clients.

The Assistant Tailoring and Retail Specialist will be responsible for associated tailoring to uniforms for Defence members, medal mounting, receiving, checking, and releasing items, providing customer service when selecting and fitting clothing items, stock placement, packing, and preparing for dispatch, maintaining accurate stock movement records using computer systems, processing documentation and EFTPOS transactions and reconciliation activities, assisting with stock takes and spot-checks and monitoring areas for unauthorized access, operating stores machinery, tools, and equipment not requiring a license or requiring a license, picking and processing customer orders for other stores and assisting with processing disposals.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills in tailoring and retail services. The successful candidate will work closely with senior staff to ensure the efficient operation of the store and delivery of high-quality services to Defence clients.

Requirements
  • Australian Citizenship
  • Seamsperson/Tailoring Experience (tertiary qualifications highly regarded)
  • Valid WA Driver's License
  • Experience within a warehouse operations environment and/or retail sector (highly regarded)
  • Ability to work in a team environment and/or under routine supervision
  • Confident keyboard, data entry, and computer literacy skills
