The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for an Apprentice Mechanical Fitter to join our operations team at Barron Gorge Power Station in Cairns. You'll complete both on and off-the-job training, including TAFE study blocks, to achieve a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical.

  • You will apply learned skills to assist in delivering planned preventative maintenance, ensuring our operations remain highly reliable and efficient.
  • You will develop work skills and experience supported by ongoing mentoring and coaching.
About You
  • You are eager to undertake and successfully complete a Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical (4-year course) and apply your skills daily on an operating site.
  • You have completed year 11 with satisfactory results in Math & English, and hold a valid drivers' licence (learners or provisional stage acceptable).
  • You are motivated, mechanically minded, and committed to safety.
  • You are eager to learn and not afraid to ask questions or seek guidance when required.
  • You have a passion to contribute to the delivery of renewable, reliable, and affordable energy for Queensland.
