Sofitel Darling Harbour is seeking a skilled Pastry Chef to join our team. As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for the production and presentation of pastries, cakes, and other baked goods for our Lobby car and breakfast buffet stations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the baking of pastries and croissants and set up for various breakfast buffet stations.
  • Produce and present pastries and cakes that meet Sofitel Brand Standards.
  • Maintain open communication between the pastry kitchen and other departments within the hotel.
  • Ensure food standards, preparation, presentation, and cooking techniques meet all Sofitel Brand Standards.
  • Ensure the highest possible standard of hygiene is practiced and maintained to meet Work Health and Safety regulations and HACCP food preparation guidelines.
  • Cultivate and maintain a positive work environment where learning and personal development are benchmarks by which quality improvement is driven.

Requirements:

  • Qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Highly motivated with excellent attention to detail.
  • 1-2 years experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster including weekends & public holidays.
  • Working understanding of food safety standards and HACCP.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
