Job Title: Sydney Deli Expert

The ideal candidate will possess strong food handling experience, a Higher School Certificate or higher, and excellent interpersonal skills. Previous experience in a comparable role would be advantageous.

About the Role:

This Sydney-based position requires a skilled Service Deli Assistant to prepare and package meals, entrees, salads, party trays, rotisserie chicken, sliced meats, and cheeses. As a key member of our warehouse team, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, inspecting and reassembling it as needed, and adhering to health code standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring all equipment is dismantled, washed, rinsed, and sanitized according to sanitation standard operating procedures (SSOP) guidelines.
  • Inspecting and reassembling equipment, addressing any corrective actions from the previous night.
  • Reworking display cases, filling and rotating merchandise to meet customer demands.
  • Completing required department paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas throughout the day, following SSOP guidelines.
  • Complying with health code by maintaining proper temperatures and adhering to sanitation standards.
  • Stocking and rotating supplies in coolers and freezers.
  • Removing rubbish from department and work areas efficiently.
  • Operating compactors and balers safely and effectively.
  • Preparing and cooking chicken as per Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Packaging, labeling, and displaying chicken in hot holding cabinets.
  • Adhering to all departments' Standard Operating Procedures at all times.
  • Assembling platters, pizzas, sushi, salads, raw meats, and other items sold in the Service Deli and Rotisserie departments.
  • Assisting with other department tasks as necessary.
  • Providing prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and vendors.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • A Higher School Certificate or higher.
  • Food service or comparable experience.
  • Previous food handling experience.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
