Job Title: Application Support Engineer

Location: Canberra, Brisbane, or Melbourne – 3 days a week on site

Contract Length: 12 Months renewable

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join our team in Canberra, Brisbane, or Melbourne. As an Application Support Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our business applications. Your primary responsibility will be to provide expert-level support for our enterprise application integration (EAI) systems, including IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve application issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of system performance and recommend enhancements.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
  • Monitor the performance of all applications, infrastructure, and their associated data services.
  • Serve as a subject matter advisor for supported applications.
  • Adhere to the client's IT delivery standards, procedures, and runbooks.
  • Perform continuous improvement activities.
  • Release and deployment management.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior team members.
  • Develop innovative strategies to improve application remediation processes.
Requirements
  • Integration / API-based production support.
  • IBM MQ and IBM App Connect Enterprise software.
  • IBM WBI Message Broker.
  • Configuration management.
  • Working knowledge of integration technologies and data extraction mechanisms.
Preferred Skills
  • Understanding of AWS and/or Azure cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of application monitoring tools and technologies.
  • Ability to quickly develop prototypes and proof of concepts.
  • Must be an Australian citizen, and a security clearance is desirable.
  • Preference for those with experience in Federal Gov.
