Job Title: Occupational Therapy Team Leader

This is a highly specialized leadership position within our healthcare organization, requiring a qualified and experienced occupational therapist to lead and manage a team of professionals. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clinical occupational therapy services to clients with complex needs, as well as participating in multidisciplinary teams and contributing to the development of high-performing teams.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical occupational therapy services to client groups and circumstances of a complex nature requiring advanced practice skills.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and family meetings.
  • Use evidence-based practice clinical outcome measures and patient feedback - satisfaction measures and quality assurance activities.
  • Prioritize and delegate duties of occupational therapy caseloads for self and supervised caregivers.
  • Promote professional values and ethics in clinical practice.
  • Demonstrate consolidated, current knowledge of research, evidence-based practice in occupational therapy, and related clinical areas.
  • Act as a clinical consultant for the discipline and within the specialty.
  • Document patient/client healthcare records in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Lead and contribute to undergraduate student and volunteer programs and training.
  • Develop and lead high-performing teams.
  • Model professional values and ethics for caregivers.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as directed by the Allied Health Manager.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Advanced clinical expertise in a highly specialized area of practice within a healthcare setting.
  • Experience in a senior clinical position, preferably with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills, written, verbal, and interpersonal, with the ability to collaborate effectively across disciplines.
  • Facilitation of quality improvement initiatives and contribution to research projects.
  • Capacity for strategic thinking and service development.
