The Financial Operations section is a dynamic team responsible for managing the department's banking, treasury and cash management functions. They work collectively with other sections within Financial Management to provide enabling services across DVA ensuring financial management and compliance requirements are met.

As a Financial Operations Specialist you will undertake a broad range of tasks including accounts reconciliations, accounts processing, administration and support in relation to finance activities. These tasks include:

  • Participating in day-to-day operational duties such as accounts processing, creation of suppliers, customer service, reconciliations, corrections and records management
  • Maintaining awareness of Commonwealth financial compliance and legislative frameworks specific to role
  • Building rapport and maintaining internal and external relationships, responding to enquiries and providing straightforward advice on accounts matters
  • Managing needs of customers to meet and exceed expectations, identifying and escalating issues

You will also contribute to team goals and objectives, understand contribution to team outcomes and contribute to a supportive and cooperative team environment. The ideal candidate will use financial management and business systems to capture, research, analyse and reconcile data.
