Job Summary

The successful candidate will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse as a team member to provide support and assistance to residents/patients in daily living activities as identified in the care plan. This role involves providing person-centered care according to established standards of practice, including Accreditation Canada Standards and Personal Care Home Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents/patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide support with eating, ambulation, and transfer
  • Engage residents/patients in activities that promote socialization and mental stimulation
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment
  • Document resident/patient care and progress in accordance with established policies and procedures
Requirements
  • Grade 12 or equivalent education
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from a recognized program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care)
  • One to two years of experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably with elderly or disabled clients
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents/patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect resident/patient rights and dignity
