Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Health Care Aide to join our team at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a key member of our care team, you will provide high-quality support and assistance to residents/patients in Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as identified in the care plan.

About the Role

In this dynamic role, you will work under the leadership and direction of the Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Psychiatric Nurse as team leaders. You will engage in education and certifications to maintain competency and provide person-centered care according to established standards of practice.

Responsibilities
  1. Support residents/patients with ADLs, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility
  2. Assist with daily living activities, such as feeding, toileting, and transferring
  3. Encourage independence and promote resident/patient autonomy
  4. Communicate effectively with residents/patients, families, and healthcare teams
  5. Participate in education and training programs to maintain competency
Requirements
  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Health Care Aide Certificate from recognized program
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (Acute Care)
  • Minimum one year's experience working in a health care setting
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.

A valid Class 5 driver's license is required for some positions.

Please note that proficiency in both official languages is essential for target and designated bilingual positions.
