Advanced Data Analyst Position

We are seeking an experienced Electronic Surveillance Analyst to join our team in the newly created Electronic Surveillance Analysis (ESA) section. The ESA section is responsible for delivering electronic surveillance products in support of Australian Federal Police operations, with a focus on data insights and analysis.
The successful candidate will work within multiple Electronic Surveillance Analyst Teams (ESATs), contributing to the development of analytical capabilities related to collections from Covert Technical Operations (CTO). This includes understanding electronic surveillance collections, identifying operational threats and opportunities, and providing actionable insights for investigations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintaining advanced currency in the application of analytical methodologies such as discovery analysis, statistical analysis, anomaly analysis, and trend analysis to address specific investigative requirements or intelligence gaps
- Demonstrating extensive technical knowledge, applied tradecraft, and professional decision making in relevant domains to deliver problem-focused solutions in response to operational priorities
- Developing and demonstrating an understanding of ESAT's scope within CTO and how it contributes to the wider AFP
- Contributing to data analysis, tradecraft, systems, and process development to build capabilities that derive valuable insights and inform key decision makers in support of operational requirements
Requirements:
- Being an Australian citizen
- Having a Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
- Completing the Electronic Surveillance Analyst Foundations course or being able to attain it within six months of commencement
