The Significance of This Role

In this position, you will work across our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes and Learning and Lifestyle Centre, providing assistance to individuals with disabilities to help them live as independently as possible. Your role will also involve encouraging clients to participate in various flexible learning programs, recreational activities, and social events tailored to their NDIS goals. Each day will present new challenges and experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting individuals in achieving their NDIS goals by developing essential daily skills such as housekeeping, personal care, social skills, and budgeting.
  • Providing support with personal care as needed to meet the unique requirements of those we assist.
  • Aiding in meal planning, cooking, light cleaning, and fostering community connections through social activities and outings.
  • Supporting clients during daily activities, including walks, movie outings, or accompanying them to appointments.
  • Helping maintain connections with family, friends, and services.

What You Bring to the Team

Your experience, empathy, and strong interpersonal skills will be essential in delivering high-quality support and promoting independence for our clients.

Required Qualifications

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a SIL environment or supporting individuals with complex disabilities is highly regarded.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, early mornings, weekends, and sleepovers (penalty rates apply).
  • Ability to meet physical demands, as some manual handling tasks may be involved.
  • Commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check, NDIS Worker Screening Check, First Aid, CPR, National Criminal History Check, and possess an open Driver's License with comprehensive vehicle insurance.
