About the Role

We are seeking experienced support workers to join our KinCare team in the Newcastle area as Home Care Workers. As a Home Care Worker, you will provide high-quality care and support to our customers, enabling them to live independently at home for longer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Domestic Assistance: Cleaning the home of older people to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment
  • Assisting with meal preparation and shopping to promote healthy eating habits
  • Providing social support and transport to lifestyle activities to enhance our customers' quality of life
  • Personal care, including getting customers up, showered, and dressed for the day, managing medications, and assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing respite and emotional support to our customers and their families
  • Transporting customers to appointments and providing social support
  • Delivering complex care to customers with high care needs, such as dementia

Requirements
  • At least 6 months' work experience as a support or care worker, including experience with personal care skills
  • A current P1 class or above Australian Drivers License and a registered vehicle – travel is part of the role
  • Ability to work independently and find solutions to everyday problems, knowing when to ask for help
  • Availability to work at least 3 days a week, Monday to Friday, with no night or weekend work
