Role Overview

The Financial Crime Operations team is responsible for the detection, prevention, assessment and escalation of financial crime risks.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and standardise processes to address financial crime risks according to policy.
  • Lead the execution of a financial year strategy with direct reports to deliver key performance indicators.
  • Apply commercial acumen to financial crime obligations to identify relevant risks and mitigating controls.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of various business operations through review of Standard Operating Procedures and walkthroughs.
  • Maintain strong relationships with risk and business stakeholders, as well as operational risk and compliance colleagues.
  • Prepare management information and other relevant reports and scorecards.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with AML/CTF & Sanctions stakeholders - internal and external - to support the Financial Crime program.
  • Ensure appropriate training is designed and delivered.
  • Evaluate and mitigate deficiencies and risks in the Financial Crime program.
  • Lead a culture of quality, productivity and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in industry forums driving the organisation's interests and maintain a focus on emerging issues to support informed decision making.
