About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialist Pharmacist to join our Cancer Care team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive medication management services to patients with cancer.

  • You will oversee the end-to-end medication management process, including reviewing, validating, compounding, dispensing, and checking of chemotherapy and supportive medicines to ensure safe and effective treatment.
  • You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement clinical guidelines and standards of practice that support best-practice oncology care.
  • You will provide mentorship and supervision to junior pharmacists and technicians, promoting clinical excellence and performance optimisation through knowledge sharing and effective leadership.
  • You will contribute to departmental initiatives in medication safety, quality use of medicines, staff education, and practice-based research to support innovation and best-practice oncology care.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in cancer care pharmacy services, with high-level clinical expertise, judgment, and competence. You will also need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage meaningfully with patients.

  • You must be a registered pharmacist with AHPRA (no conditions on practice), eligible for Grade 2 classification under the Health Employees' Pharmacists (State) Award.
  • You must have a strong alignment with the values of Mary Aikenhead Ministries and St Vincent's Health Australia, underpinned by high personal integrity.
  • You must have a thorough knowledge of relevant governance, regulatory, and quality standards.
  • You must be an effective communicator with excellent written and verbal skills.
  • You must be highly organised with a strong ability to manage complex workloads, showing excellent time management, attention to detail, and a commitment to professional growth and continuous development.
