Job Role Overview:

Field technicians, engineers or scientists are required to conduct field activities involving the operation of testing and inspection equipment.

This position is based in Sydney and may entail intrastate and interstate travel.

The incumbent will provide scientific and/or engineering support for research projects, NDT testing and analysis, as well as investigation projects concerning the assessment of water and wastewater pipeline condition and related work.

Key duties include operating measurement devices, acquiring data from the field, calibration of NDT equipment and supporting team administration.

Applicants with TAFE or tertiary qualifications in science or engineering are welcome. The preferred skills include familiarity with inspection and non-destructive techniques (NDT), commonly used business software and database and GIS tools.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate various types of equipment for testing and inspection purposes.
  • Conduct fieldwork to collect data and analyze results.
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Support administrative tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in science or engineering.
  • Proficiency in inspection and non-destructive testing techniques.
  • Experience with business software and database tools.
  • Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS).
