About the RoleWe're seeking a caring and reliable Community Support Worker to join our friendly Home and Community Care team in the South Metropolitan area of Perth on a part-time basis.
To be considered, you'll need to live within the Rockingham, Baldivis or Port Kennedy suburbs, have a current driver's license, and your own reliable car. Shifts are typically rostered between 7am and 5pm, Monday to Friday, with availability required between 7am and 5pm to meet the needs of our clients.
Our Home and Community Care team helps older West Australians stay independent in the comfort of their own homes. We're known for delivering person-centered care and working together to make a real difference in our clients' lives.
You'll be part of a supportive environment that values initiative, teamwork, and compassion. In this rewarding role, you'll provide personal care and everyday support that empowers clients to live safely and independently, following our wellness approach.
Key Responsibilities- Provide personal care such as showering, dressing, grooming, and continence support in a way that maintains dignity and comfort
- Assist with medication, ensuring clients receive the correct medication (full training provided)
- Support with daily living by offering a helping hand to high-care clients with activities that make everyday life easier
- Lend a hand at home with domestic duties, light cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and keeping living spaces safe and welcoming
- Be a friendly face by providing social support and companionship, including driving clients to shops, appointments, or community activities
- Follow personalized care plans to make sure each client's needs and preferences are met with consistency and care
- Encourage independence by supporting clients to do as much as they can for themselves, using our wellness approach
- Be part of their day by sharing a chat, a smile, or a listening ear that makes all the difference
- Previous aged care or community care experience, including personal care (showering, dressing, continence support)
- Certificate III in Aged Care (or equivalent) – desirable
- A current Australian driver's license and your own reliable car
- A genuine passion for supporting older people to live independently in their own homes
- The ability to build positive, respectful relationships with clients and their families
- Good communication skills and a caring, patient nature
- The ability to work independently while being part of a supportive team
- An attractive rate of pay $34.07 - $35.71 per hour, plus 12% superannuation
