Job Title: Research Expert in Geomicrobiology

">Job Description

We are seeking a motivated independent individual to carry out world-class research in the areas of microbiology, geomicrobiology and genomics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in geomicrobiology within WA-OIGC, EPS, and across other schools in Curtin University.
  • Publish high-quality international peer-reviewed journal articles in their area of research.
  • Contribute to teaching of graduate and undergraduate students in the Earth Sciences curriculum.
  • Develop internal and external collaborative projects with industry, academia, and government organisations.
  • Contribute to the leadership of WA-OIGC, the School of EPS, and the Faculty of Science and Engineering.
Requirements
  • A doctoral qualification in microbiology/geobiology and sedimentary inorganic geochemistry.
  • Demonstrated record of PhD and undergraduate scholar supervision.
  • An established record of research outputs in international peer-reviewed journals.
  • An established record of grant success relative to opportunity.
  • An established record of industry engagement.
  • A demonstrated ability to attract industry funding.
  • A demonstrated high level of communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated record as an external consultant or reviewer of research proposals.
  • Demonstrated high-level teaching skill and a demonstrated reflective approach to teaching delivery.
