Powerline Worker Job Description

SA Power Networks is seeking a skilled and experienced Powerline Worker to join its Distribution Services team. This permanent position involves maintaining and constructing distribution assets, including live low voltage maintenance and construction, high voltage switching, and live line tree trimming.

  • Maintain and construct distribution assets, including overhead and underground lines (poles, wires, transformers, high voltage switches etc.)
  • Perform live low voltage maintenance and construction tasks
  • Engage in high voltage switching activities

The standard working week is 72 hours with one rostered day off per fortnight. The role also requires working overtime from time to time and performing availability duties.

To be successful in this role, you must have a current SA Electrical Workers Licence for Distribution work or the ability to apply under mutual recognition. A current drivers' licence is also essential, while having an HR licence would be beneficial. Experience in HV/LV switching is highly desirable but not essential.
