Professional Horticulturist Required for Green Space Maintenance

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and hard-working horticulturist to join our team based in Brookvale, NSW 2100. As a key member of our green space maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the impeccable condition of over 100 gardens for strata blocks.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain lawns to achieve an even and manicured appearance through regular mowing and edging.
  • Ensure crisp and defined edges around lawns and garden beds.
  • Remove weeds from lawns and garden areas to promote a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Trim and shape hedges along pathways and walkways to maintain a well-groomed and accessible outdoor space.
  • Dispose of green waste generated during maintenance activities, adhering to environmental regulations.
  • Operate and maintain various gardening tools and equipment such as lawnmowers, trimmers, and chainsaws.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and use personal protective equipment to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Identify and treat plant diseases, as well as implement pest control measures to protect the garden's health.
  • Regularly trim and prune trees, bushes, and hedges to maintain their shape, encourage healthy growth, and ensure safety.

Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications
  • A minimum of two-three years' experience in a similar role
  • Good understanding of plant varieties, soil types, and horticultural practices is essential
  • Familiarity with various horticultural techniques such as planting, propagation, and soil improvement is beneficial

What We Offer:

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $70,000, plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
