Job Summary:

In this role, you will collaborate with a team of experts to plan, develop, coordinate, and review project civil/structural design work. You will produce detailed drawings, facilitate discussions, communicate complex technical issues, and prepare civil/structural design estimates and work plans. Your recommendations will ensure designs and work plans are in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work with other civil designers and drafters to prepare layouts, study drawings, detailed 2-D and 3-D Computer Aided Design (CAD) design models, and construction drawings.
  • Develop designs for complete and complex civil engineering systems such as earthwork, drainage, road design, with minimum supervision from which detailed scale models and/or construction drawings are completed.
  • Assist in constructing detailed scale models.
  • Prepare or assist with the preparation of assigned material requisitions and bid evaluations.
  • Monitor and check work for compliance with approved civil design standards to provide quality design, reliable/safe plant operation, and construction economy.
  • Participate in constructability reviews.
  • Other responsibilities as designated.
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of relevant work experience.
  • Specialized courses in drafting, design, and engineering practices.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in design and drafting and demonstrated skill.
  • Sound knowledge of design and drafting techniques, engineering drawings, graphic arts, reading of drawings, and reproduction methods used by the discipline.
  • Skill in reading, interpreting, and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups.
  • Experience with relevant software e.g. OpenRoads Designer.
