Senior Project Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our team on the Copper String 2032 project. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a high-profile project that will change the way Australia generates its energy.
About the ProjectThe Copper String 2032 project is a $5 billion iconic project that will initially be approximately 840 kilometres of new transmission line running from just south of Townsville to Mount Isa. The project scope includes:
- 500 kilovolt (kV) transmission line from just south of Townsville to Hughenden
- 330kV transmission line from Hughenden to Cloncurry
- 220kV transmission line from Cloncurry to Mount Isa, up to six new substation sites
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Obtaining relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications
- Monitoring quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, checking work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arranging corrections or modifications where necessary
- Ensuring project engineering completion is on time and within budget
- Recording completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retaining progress drawings
- Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilising corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin
- Assigning work and assisting with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards
- Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
- Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent
- Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years engineering experience with 4+ years site based
- Experience on $50M projects
- Project Engineer and operational experience
- Ideally have experience on transmission or substation projects
