About the Role
We are seeking a Sr Project Engineer to support the Pre-Development activities within the Onshore Development Execution team. The Senior Project Engineer will support the delivery of Assess and Select phase engineering activities, underpinning the Long-Term Plans (LTP) for various assets. The position is responsible for supporting scope development, engineering, design, concept select decision-making, and ensuring adequate stakeholder engagement during the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure engineering scope, activities, and decision-making outcomes align with project objectives and strategies.
* Frame, support, and mature key project technical decisions.
* Ensure key project development deliverables are developed in line with the Santos Opportunity Delivery Process (ODP).
* Conduct due diligence in the early project phases to ensure the project scope, schedule, and estimate are defined appropriately.
* Support integration of technical and non-technical work fronts into key project deliverables and documentation.
* Manage engineering scopes performed by external service providers, ensuring quality, safety, schedule, and cost meet required standards.
About You
We are looking for professionals with demonstrated experience in conventional and/or unconventional oil and gas production in development and operations phases. A strong technical foundation, with a solid understanding of the full spectrum of the oil and gas value chain, is essential. The ability to communicate project scope, business cases, and implementation recommendations is also required. A delivery mindset and work ethic, with the ability to work across a multi-discipline team, are essential for this role.
Desired Experience
* Exposure to project delivery processes from Assess to Define phase.
* Experience with brownfield projects and the associated complexities.
* Good understanding of hydrocarbon production systems, gathering networks, and processing facilities, including produced water management.
* Track record of applying technically innovative solutions to complex surface development challenges.
