Principal Environmental Scientist – Contaminated Land

The role of a Principal Environmental Scientist in contaminated land management is pivotal for mitigating environmental risks associated with industrial activities. This position necessitates expertise in contaminated land investigations, risk assessments, and remediation strategies to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage contaminated land investigations, including site characterization, risk assessment, and remediation planning.
  • Lead client and regulator engagement, providing technical and strategic advice on contaminated land management.
  • Drive business development initiatives to expand services in the Northern Territory, focusing on proposal writing and tender submissions.
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, promoting knowledge sharing and professional growth within the team.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Tertiary qualification in environmental science, engineering, hydrogeology, or a related discipline.
  • Over 15 years of experience in contaminated land consulting, encompassing remediation strategy and risk assessment.
  • Strong understanding of NT and Commonwealth environmental regulations, with a proven track record of working effectively with auditors.
  • Proven project management, leadership, and client relationship skills.
