The role of Software Engineer at our company focuses on developing a large open-source Go project, Juju, which powers distributed software systems globally.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop features in a highly concurrent and distributed system that drives cloud automation and software operations at scale.
- Collaborate with a distributed team to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Debug issues and engage with upstream communities.
- Work with talented engineers to design and implement effective solutions.
To excel in this position, you should have:
- Proficiency in developing software using Go.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, especially in online environments.
- A strong academic track record from high school and university.
- Ability to travel up to 4 times a year for internal events.
We are looking for candidates with hands-on experience in:
- Developing highly concurrent distributed systems.
- Container technologies (Docker, LXD, Kubernetes).
- Solid networking background and experience.
- Agile software development methodologies.
- Linux and open-source software expertise.
- Configuration management software (Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
- Cloud computing knowledge.
- Software packaging (Debian, snaps).
- Programming and operating SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Distributed team experience on an open source project.
- Demonstrated track record of Open Source contributions.
- Prior experience developing plugins for Terraform.
