Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Employee Relations Expert to join our team. This role will lead all of Montu's Employee Relations frameworks, processes, and practices, ensuring they meet high standards of practicality, regulatory, and legal compliance.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing internal stakeholders, including the People and Talent team, and people leaders. This individual must possess a high degree of knowledge and be comfortable giving advice on complex ER matters and leading high-risk cases independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Bring diverse approaches and solutions to managing ER cases and risk.
  • Provide key guidance and support to People Partners on addressing cases.
  • Manage high-risk cases as primary point of contact.
  • Perform moderate to high-risk investigations.
  • Support People Partners in navigating ER issues.
  • Represent the Company at mediation hearings as required.
  • Oversee the use and delivery of services from external parties, such as legal counsel, investigators, etc.
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation.

Employee Relations Frameworks:

  • Evaluate and maintain policies, procedures, templates, and frameworks to ensure relevance and understanding.
  • Draft contractual documents to manage ER risk.
  • Ensure the People and Talent team operates within an appropriate framework, including training, policies, procedures, and documents.
  • Manage government submissions related to Employment compliance.

Business Capability:

  • Identify ER skill and capability gaps and collaborate with others to organize training.
  • Analyze ER data to identify risk patterns and develop strategies to reduce risk across the organization.
  • Stay informed about government proposals or draft legislation affecting business operations and prepare discussion papers.
