Our team is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to join our group of experts in the field of power distribution management. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing advanced power system applications, including Distribution Power Flow (DPF), Fault Location Isolation & Service Restoration (FLISR), Volt/VAR Control & Optimization (VVC/VVO), Outage Management Systems (OMS) and Switch Order Management (SOM). In this role, you will be responsible for leading projects in the ADMS portfolio and serving as a technical support expert.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in a Power System Engineering role. They should also have demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex systems issues in software applications, knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems.

About the Role

This position offers broad exposure to the entire ADMS and provides an opportunity to work across functional teams, including ADMS Application Engineers, Architecture & Product Solution teams, and Software Development organization. You will be responsible for interfacing with utilities Geographic Information System (GIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the electrical network model to the Distribution Management System and configuring and integrating software components to meet contract requirement specifications.

  • Lead projects in the ADMS portfolio and serve as a technical support expert
  • Support implementation of control systems at electric utilities
  • Participate in design, planning, and execution of ADMS projects
  • Support testing events with the customer
  • Work closely with functional development teams to troubleshoot, prioritize, and test product changes
  • Interface with utilities Geographic Information System (GIS) teams to extract, translate, and load the electrical network model to the Distribution Management System
  • Configure and integrate software components to meet contract requirement specifications
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in a Power System Engineering role
  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and resolving complex systems issues in software applications
  • Knowledge of system designs, computer systems, engineering practices, and control systems
  • Understanding of Electric Distribution Power Systems and modeling
