The Opportunity

This role is based in Port Kembla and involves working on equipment at the Hot Strip Mill plant. As part of the Australian Steel Products portfolio, six major manufacturing sites operate in the region, delivering a range of products and services to domestic and international customers.

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining equipment to the highest standards, ensuring safety, quality, and reliability objectives are met. This will involve applying mechanical fitting skills and experience to complete complex and routine maintenance tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support efficient production by maintaining onsite equipment
  • Plan and organise shutdowns
  • Demonstrate mechanical expertise on capital projects
  • Provide out-of-hours support to the team
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of maintenance strategies
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience as a qualified Mechanical Fitter/Machinist
  • Experience in mechanics and automation
  • Proven exposure to maintenance management systems and basic computer skills

A willingness to learn new skills and develop yourself in the role is essential.
