Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Network Security Specialist to oversee the setup, administration, and troubleshooting of Palo Alto firewalls.

This key role will be responsible for implementing network security protocols, ensuring seamless connectivity, and optimizing firewall performance.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of IP networking, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and VPN technologies.

Experience with network monitoring, log analysis, and firewall management tools (e.g., Panorama, Strata Cloud Manager) is also essential.

A successful candidate will possess strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication abilities, and exposure to network testing, compliance audits, and security best practices.

They will generate technical and compliance reports, maintain accurate records, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Bonus skills include experience with automation/scripting (Python, Ansible) for firewall management and familiarity with other security tools (e.g., SIEM, proxy, threat protection solutions).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup, configure, and troubleshoot Palo Alto firewalls
  • Implement network security protocols to ensure data confidentiality and integrity
  • Monitor and analyze network logs to identify potential security threats
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve complex technical issues
  • Develop and implement effective backup and recovery procedures

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in network security or a related field
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other network protocols
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Ansible)
  • Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) systems
