Electrical Engineer – Compliance Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our Gas & Renewables team at AGL.

This role is responsible for the lead and coordination of technical and generator performance compliance for AGL Renewable sites. Key responsibilities include:

  • Technical Compliance Management: Leading the coordination of technical compliance activities, ensuring that all renewable sites meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Generator Performance Monitoring: Developing and implementing new generator performance standards, reporting non-compliances, and providing regular updates on technical compliance status.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaising with site-based operational teams and engineering teams to develop solutions to resolve reported non-compliances and meet technical standards.
  • Regulatory Affairs: Ensuring compliance with relevant industry and environmental legislation and regulations, and maintaining effective relationships with regulatory bodies.
  • Asset Strategies: Collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to develop, implement, and maintain technical standards across gas & renewables assets.

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Eligibility for membership of Engineers Australia, with capability of eventually becoming CPEng and registering for the National Engineering Register.
  • Experience with compliance in power generation and renewable energy.
  • High-quality written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and work with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • An understanding of the National Electricity Market and regulatory environment.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills as well as technical report writing skills with a high level of attention to detail.

We offer a competitive salary package estimated to be between $120,000 - $180,000 AUD per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
