Job Overview

We are seeking skilled Patient Care Assistants to join our team. This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care and supporting nursing staff.

About the Role:

  • Deliver direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or enrolled nurse
  • Transfer patients using all forms of transport to various areas of the hospital
  • Assist nursing caregivers with patient care while maintaining patient privacy
  • Maintain a safe environment for patients, contributing to their comfort needs
  • Support an efficient and timely patient admission, transfer, and discharge process
  • Assist registered nurses or enrolled nurses in caring for deceased patients
  • Provide focused supervision of patients as directed by registered/enrolled nurses
  • Maintain stock levels and oxygen/suction levels in designated areas

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Health Service Assistant (Client/Patient Services) or similar qualification
  • Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and set priorities effectively
  • Sound understanding of manual handling practices and basic cleanliness standards
