Operations Supervisor Position

This role oversees the daily operations of the Road Express division in Mackay. It is a full-time permanent position requiring work from Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Optimize Load Planning: To maximize driver and equipment utilization by compiling loads efficiently.
  • Vehicle Deployment: Organize vehicles to meet all customer orders and requests.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure that vehicles adhere to customer and freight requirements.
  • Customer Liaison: Liaise with internal and external customers, providing advice and support.
  • Loading/Unloading Documentation: Prepare necessary documentation for loading/unloading, including manifests and compliance paperwork.
  • Performance Analysis: Analyze contractor run sheets and delivery advices for performance management.
  • Incident Management: Manage incidents involving drivers, including reports and investigations.
  • Driver Supervision: Oversee drivers to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Coordinate repairs and maintenance of company equipment.
  • Operational Meetings: Participate in operational and OHS meetings.
  • Customer Inquiries: Respond promptly to customer inquiries.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate reports as needed.
Requirements:
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Leadership skills to guide staff effectively.
  • Capacity to identify operational inefficiencies and resolve service issues.
  • Familiarity with multi-purpose fleet and equipment.
  • Understanding of geographical factors in operations.
  • Transport experience and knowledge of relevant policies and legislation are preferred but not mandatory.
