Job Title:

We are seeking a highly skilled Adabas Database Administrator to manage, monitor, and optimize Adabas database environments.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, monitor, and optimize Adabas database systems to ensure high performance and efficiency.
  • Perform routine database maintenance tasks including backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures to prevent data loss.
  • Plan and implement upgrades and maintenance of ADABAS, Natural, and related products at vendor-supported levels to ensure compatibility and security.
  • Apply patches and emergency fixes to maintain database stability and security.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and optimization of database performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Utilize database utilities and third-party tools for monitoring and management to stay ahead of potential issues.
  • Collaborate with Mainframe Systems Programmers to address performance and operational challenges.
  • Provide on-call support and maintain detailed documentation for all completed tasks.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience as an Adabas Database Administrator with a strong understanding of database structures, utilities, and performance tuning techniques.
  • Experience with backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning for Adabas is essential.
  • Knowledge of third-party database management and monitoring tools is highly desirable.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills are required.
  • Strong teamwork abilities and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment are necessary.
