High-Level Engineer Required for Highway Infrastructure Projects

A high-level engineer is required to design and oversee the structural components of major highway projects, ensuring safety, quality, and sustainability. The successful candidate will contribute to projects with Main Roads Western Australia and the development and maintenance of critical transport infrastructure.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and review structural designs for bridges, overpasses, and other highway-related structures using advanced engineering software and techniques.
  • Lead structural engineering aspects of projects, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Perform complex structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant standards, as well as local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct detailed reviews and inspections of structural designs and construction work.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders to communicate design concepts and address project requirements.
  • Incorporate innovative and sustainable practices into structural designs to minimize environmental impact and optimize resource efficiency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5–10 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on highway and bridge projects.
  • Proficiency in structural design software such as STAAD.Pro, LUSAS, Midas Civil, Strand 7, or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of Main Roads WA standards and engineering practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a small team is desirable.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
