Imagine shaping the future of transportation and developing sustainable solutions for economic regions. We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Director with extensive experience in the railway industry to join our Technical Advisory program for OSE in Athens, Greece.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic control of engineering projects for network renovation, modernization, expansion, investments, and funding
  • Develop long-term infrastructure strategies aligned with national transport plans
  • Participate in medium-term planning
  • Coordinate with maintenance regarding planned investments
  • Initiate a lifecycle-based asset management model for infrastructure and rolling stock
  • Embed preventive maintenance, digital diagnostics, and safety KPIs into the organization
  • Establish clear revenue models for infrastructure access, rolling stock leasing, and service-level agreements
  • Control budgets and ensure accountability for investments and replacements
  • Standardize contract and stakeholder management to ensure transparency and cost-effectiveness
  • Create a central Program Management Office (PMO) for major projects
  • Contribute to tenders and select suitable bidders
  • Standardize processes for budgeting, approvals, tracking, and reporting
  • Promote a culture of analytics to optimize asset utilization and maintenance planning
  • Define clear lines of accountability and risk ownership across functions
Qualifications
  • Prior experience in the railway industry is required
  • University degree in business, engineering, project management, or a similar field, with relevant professional experience in a complex role
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in similar tasks
  • Certification in project management (e.g., PMP)
  • At least 5 years of leadership experience
  • Experience in infrastructure investment planning
  • Experience managing tenders for railway infrastructure
  • Impartial moderation skills and intercultural sensitivity
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Fluency in English is mandatory; German and Greek are advantageous
  • Familiarity with Greek administrative standards
