Transportation Engineer - Traffic and Mobility Specialist

A transport engineer is needed for a role that involves traffic and mobility solutions in the community. The successful candidate will be part of a team that provides expert services in transportation planning, analysis, and design.

Job Description

The primary responsibility of the transport engineer will be to provide accurate and efficient transportation engineering services. This includes conducting site inspections, gathering data on road environment, traffic, and road safety observation. The candidate will also be responsible for planning, supervising, and conducting traffic and parking surveys.

  • Conduct site inspections and gather data on road environment, traffic, and road safety observation.
  • Plan, supervise, and conduct traffic and parking surveys.
  • Prepare and administer questionnaires.
  • Analyze traffic and parking data using software such as Excel and SIDRA Intersection modeling.
  • Assess and provide design advice for intersection and parking layouts.
  • Obtain and assess crash data.
  • Undertake road safety assessments.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working in a traffic engineering capacity with familiarity with relevant software.
  • Experience of working in a consulting environment or for local/state government in a similar role.
  • Good working knowledge of best practice standards, guidelines, current trends, and legislation.
  • Excellent communication skills to present complex ideas effectively.
