Software Development Expert

This role plays a crucial part in the successful execution of critical Maritime Electronic Warfare projects that safeguard national security.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in designing and developing microservices/container-based software applications using automated CI/CD pipelines and Software Development Environments, ensuring continuous delivery of value.

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to implement software functionality that meets the definition of done. Your primary responsibility will be to improve the flow of value within Scrum teams.

You will also be responsible for planning Sprints and Program Increments. Additionally, you will work collaboratively as part of a high-calibre team.

Your contribution to building quality into products using Test-Driven Development (TDD) and automated test frameworks is essential.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM fields.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in software design, development, and testing.
  • Proven experience working within Scrum methodologies.
  • Desirable: Experience working within SAFe, building applications using containers orchestrated in Kubernetes, microservice and/or event-driven architecture, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps, GitLab CI/CD, Python scripts in Ansible, Linux platform, UML design models, Object-Oriented languages (C++, C#, Objective C, Java or Rust), Avalonia UI, Apache Kafka, unit tests, end-to-end tests, TDD, code coverage analysis tools, source code repositories management (Git, GitLab), excellent written and oral communications skills, Defence-related industry experience, Australian Government Security Clearance up to NV-1.
