Midwifery Education Specialist Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled midwife to assume the position of Midwifery Education Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding and mentoring midwives and students, building clinical confidence, and delivering high-standard, woman-centred care in a busy maternity service environment.

  • Develop engaging education programs, training sessions, and clinical skills assessments
  • Support staff across various units, including Birth Unit, Antenatal Clinic, Postnatal, and Newborn Care
  • Mentor students, early-career midwives, and new team members
  • Promote high-quality, evidence-based care practices
  • Collaborate with the education and maternity leadership team to achieve shared goals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical teaching and mentorship to support midwifery staff and students in their professional development
  • Design and deliver education programs and assess clinical skills
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of woman-centred care practices and protocols
  • Engage with the Maternity Education team to align with service objectives and enhance quality care

Requirements:

  • Meet applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
  • Hold a current Working With Children Check (WWCC)
  • Be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Have eligibility to work in Australia
