Job Overview:

The Housekeeping role is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of various areas within a property. This includes dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures, cleaning and sanitizing toilets, showers/bathtubs, benchtops, and sinks, as well as making beds and changing linens.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Dust and polish all furniture and fixtures to maintain a clean and polished appearance.
  • Clean and sanitize all bathrooms, including toilets, showers/bathtubs, and sinks.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area, ensuring that all surfaces and appliances are free from dirt and grime.
  • Make beds and change linens on a daily basis to ensure a fresh and clean environment for guests.
  • Wash windows as required to maintain a clear view and prevent dirt buildup.
  • Vacuum and clean carpets and rugs to maintain a clean and tidy appearance.
  • Sweep/vacuum and steam/mop hard floors to maintain a clean and sanitized environment.
  • Stock bathrooms with clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies to ensure that guests have access to what they need.
  • Clean mirrors and other glass surfaces to maintain a sparkling clean appearance.
  • Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in a responsible manner.
  • Steam and clean draperies as required to maintain a clean and fresh appearance.
  • Wash blinds as required to maintain a clean and dust-free environment.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and order more as needed to ensure that all areas of the property are kept clean and hygienic.
  • Report any necessary repairs or replacements to the appropriate personnel to ensure that all issues are addressed promptly.
  • Perform seasonal deep cleaning tasks as rostered per company policy to maintain a high level of cleanliness throughout the year.
  • Utilize company equipment to work efficiently and avoid time wastage, while also establishing cleaning priorities using the arrivals/departures lists from the Property Management System.
  • Filter clean air conditioning units, dishwashers, and stove top exhausts to maintain a healthy and safe environment for guests.
  • Clean play facilities, including tidying and returning play equipment to its original condition, to ensure that children can enjoy a safe and clean play area.

Success Metrics:

  • Guest feedback will be positive, specifically in the cleanliness of our cabin and facilities.
  • Zero call backs from Management to address missed areas.
  • Positive feedback from Operations Manager.
  • Improved time management without a reduction in cleaning standards.

Linen, Supplies, and Storage:

  • Ensure all supplies are kept in a neat, orderly, and safe manner.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are held at all times.
  • Maintain accurate and current records of stock movement.
  • Advise the Housekeeping Team Leader of supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Ensure vehicles are operated with care and maintained in clean, well-stocked readiness.
  • Ensure extra supply of clean replacement items are maintained for immediate use.
