We are currently seeking highly skilled individuals to join our team as Vetting Analysts within Personnel Security Vetting. The successful applicants will be responsible for assessing clearance applicants suitability to hold a security clearance in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework and AFP governance frameworks.
The role involves working individually and with the team to gather information from various sources, conduct interviews, process security clearance assessments and provide timely high quality recommendations regarding security clearance outcomes. The successful applicants will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments.
To be successful in this role you must have strong interpersonal skills, proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of clearance subjects from diverse backgrounds. You must also have good judgment in decision making by researching information considering options and making logical recommendations.
Band 3 Role:
- Work individually and with the team to assess whether clearance applicants are suitable to hold a security clearance in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework and AFP governance frameworks.
- Manage your own allocation of vetting assessments and deliver results within agreed timeframes
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills proficient written and verbal communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of clearance subjects from diverse backgrounds.
Band 4 Role:
- Work individually and with the team to assess whether clearance applicants are suitable to hold a security clearance in accordance with the Protective Security Policy Framework and AFP governance frameworks.
- Manage your own allocation of vetting assessments and deliver on objectives within agreed timeframes and to agreed standards
- Consistently demonstrate good judgement in decision making by exploring the nature of the problem researching information considering options documenting evidence and making logical recommendations.
Essential Requirements:
- You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application.
- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
Desirable Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
- Relevant qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
