Senior Project Planner Role

As a Senior Project Planner, you will be responsible for delivering project management expertise to shape the future of the energy sector.

The role is focused on supporting the timely delivery of new and existing generation and storage projects. You will develop and manage delivery plans across a portfolio of diverse connection projects, spanning both transmission and distribution. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the rollout of a consistent project management framework across the network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans and forecasts in collaboration with project managers and engineering leads.
  • Accurately estimate task efforts and support resource planning by allocating engineering hours and forecasting short- and long-term needs.
  • Drive consistent project delivery by embedding process improvements into business-as-usual operations.
  • Proactively manage project risks, including time, cost, and scope variations.
  • Create portfolio reports and tracking tools to support management oversight and resource prioritisation.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you will need to have strong knowledge of the energy sector, including regulatory, commercial, and legal considerations for large infrastructure projects. A tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline (project management, engineering, or a related field) is highly regarded. Expert skills in using Microsoft Project are also essential.

You should be skilled in managing multi-disciplinary teams, project controls, and client relationships, with a proactive and collaborative approach. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project, as well as familiarity with CRM and Enterprise Project Management systems, is required.
