Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Group Accountant to join our finance team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in managing various financial activities essential to our operations. Key responsibilities include:
* Preparing financial statements and assisting with audits to ensure adherence to accounting standards
* Managing retained earnings, consolidation, account mapping, cash flow statements, and comprehensive disclosure notes
* Participating in monthly lease accounting and contributing to strategic financial initiatives
* Providing insights into the management and evaluation of goodwill within the organization
* Collaborating on the preparation of precise quarterly reports for the listed parent company in Japan, ensuring clarity and transparency
* Contributing to ESG reporting and ensuring compliance with environmental, social, and governance standards
* Ensuring revenue recognition and financial asset impairments comply with risk management policies
* Serving as the primary point of contact for compliance matters and reinforcing dedication to regulatory standards
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you must possess the following skills and qualifications:
* Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in similar roles within large organizations or from audit (Big 4 audit experience preferred)
* Strong technical financial accounting knowledge of AASB, capable of providing solid technical advice
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to grasp complex ideas quickly and communicate effectively
* Experience working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* Attention to detail and ability to prioritize issues
* Ability to influence and deliver change
* Team-oriented with a positive attitude
* Willingness to initiate continuous improvement
* Proactive and capable of investigating anomalies as they arise
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Suite
