The Horticulture Grower is a pivotal role in our organization's success.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain the mushroom growing/harvesting system trials, data collection, and reporting.
- Achieve mushroom yield of 25% of substrate weight and meet supermarket quality specifications.
- Maintain remote AEM air handling unit & technology and manage the growing cycle according to customer demand.
- Ensure adherence to Freshcare, HARPS, ACO certification requirements and regulations.
- Oversee watering schedule, humidifier operation, and monitoring, maintenance of growing equipment, and substrate manufacturing and ordering.
- Advise the harvest team on picking strategy, train other team members on shiitake growing strategy, and collaborate with farm managers to achieve weekly goals.
- Create a weekly growing report including projections for the following week's yield and liaise with external agronomists, agriculture technologists, and consultants.
- AQF Certificate III or IV in horticulture, viticulture, or a related field.
- Extensive grower experience with knowledge in crop health, production procedures, and pest control.
- Computing/administration skills and excellent communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience of agricultural production principles and a driver's license.
