As a Nurse Unit Manager at our health facility, you will lead a dynamic team in the delivery of high-quality primary care to approximately 1700 inmates from diverse backgrounds. Your role involves overseeing the planning, development, implementation and evaluation of health services, managing staff performance, and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide effective leadership, direction and support to health staff.
- Ensure safe, evidence-based nursing practice and compliance with policies and standards.
- Manage resources, staffing levels and budgets effectively.
- Oversee incident and complaint management, reporting and quality audits.
- Contribute to clinical governance and accreditation processes.
- Lead performance management, staff development and induction of new staff and students.
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with relevant authorities.
- A Bachelor of Nursing and postgraduate qualifications in management, leadership or a clinical specialty (or working towards).
- Previous experience as a Nurse Unit Manager or in a senior healthcare leadership role.
- Strong people leadership and change management skills within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Proven ability to develop and implement policies and drive continuous improvement.
- High-level communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
