Career Summary

Costco Wholesale seeks a highly skilled Meat Processing Associate to join our team. The ideal applicant will have experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment and be comfortable with the physical demands of the job.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance: Inspect and reassemble equipment sanitized the previous night, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Meat Preparation: Take large trays of styro-packaged meat from large wheeled racks and place individual packages into the automatic wrapping machine, following safety and security procedures.
  • Labeling and Packaging: Set the labeler according to product type and price, print, and apply labels to the product, ensuring accuracy and quality.
  • Stocking and Display: Put wrapped and labeled meat on large trays of large wheeled carts and stock them in display cases by reaching through sliding windows or moving racks to the floor.
  • Quality Control: Operate the meat grinder, dumping meat into the top of the machine and checking the fat content of each batch, following proper department production procedures and standards for quality and consistency of the finished product.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize the area throughout the day, performing duties to comply with health code, such as sanitation standards and maintaining proper temperatures.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and implements, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Customer Service: Provide and ensure prompt and courteous member service, meeting the high expectations of Costco Wholesale customers.
