About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Pathways Mentor in the Gold Coast region.

As a Pathways Mentor, you will play a vital role in guiding and supporting parents and carers of children under the age of six with their employment, educational, and career journeys.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized mentorship to parents and carers, connecting them with resources such as childcare, housing, financial aid, and educational resources.
  • Offer advice on employment searches, resume and interview preparation, and ensure participants understand their compliance requirements and obligations with Centrelink.
  • Develop tailored action plans that address unique needs and aspirations of each participant, helping them follow through on personalized action plans.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions to provide additional support and foster a sense of community amongst participants.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date records of appointments and client communication in accordance with Parent Pathways contractual requirements.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated experience in mentoring, coaching, or providing support services, particularly with working parents, carers, or students.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and build rapport and trust with diverse participants.
  • A high level of computer literacy and use of Microsoft Office suites and other government programs.
  • Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse cultural backgrounds and experiences of participants.
  • Familiarity with community resources and services available to parents and carers, including childcare, housing, and financial aid.
  • Ability to interpret various guidelines and work within frameworks.
  • Highly motivated to achieving general employment and training outcomes for participants and organisational performance and KPI goals.
  • A current, clear National Police Check.
  • A current Working With Children Check (QLD Blue Card).
