Senior Accounting Specialist

We are seeking an accomplished Senior Accounting Specialist to lead our team in delivering high-quality accounting services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation and submission of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards.
  • Develop and implement robust accounting policies and procedures, driving efficiency and effectiveness throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with senior management to identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring strategic alignment and business continuity.
  • Mentor and guide junior accountants, providing guidance on technical accounting matters and best practices.
  • Manage and review Business Activity Statements (BAS), ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with tax regulations.
  • Drive the development of accounting systems and processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and productivity.
  • Provide expert advice on consolidation processes and financial statement preparation, ensuring clarity and transparency in reporting.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in accounting or finance, with CPA or CA accreditation.
  • 10+ years of experience in technical accounting, ideally with recent experience at a senior level in the commercial real estate or funds management sector.
  • Strong technical understanding of Australian Accounting Standards (AASB) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Proven ability to write and present technical accounting papers, and liaise effectively with auditors on complex accounting matters.
