Work Environment: Workshop Based

Role Overview: We are seeking a proficient Mechanical Fitter to support the repair and maintenance of products received at the Service Centre and in customer operations.

Benefits:
  • Standard working hours: Monday - Thursday 6am - 2.30pm, Friday 6am - 12pm
  • Opportunities for overtime on a weekly basis
  • All necessary uniforms, tools, and personal protective equipment provided
  • Competitive superannuation rate of 12%
Key Duties:
  • Disassembling, repairing, and documenting the condition of pumps at our Service Centre.
  • Ensuring all products are maintained and repaired in line with the Service Centre Quality Manual.
  • Proposing enhancements to existing products, services, and processes.
  • Actively participating in the implementation of the Weir Production System at the Rebuild Centre.
  • Conducting site visits during shutdown periods to offer additional support, including disassembly, repair, and documentation of customer pumps.
  • Occasionally performing repairs at customer locations.
  • Traveling to and from customer sites, which may involve periods away from home.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Certificate III in Mechanical Engineering/Fitting & Turning.
  • Proven experience in mechanical fitting within both workshop and onsite settings.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring a team of fitters.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • High Risk Forklift License - required.
  • Overhead Crane and Dogging tickets - highly desirable.
  • Valid Driver's License.
