Plant Equipment Operator Role

The role of a Plant Equipment Operator involves supporting the construction and maintenance of various infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operating and maintaining plant equipment in an efficient and safe manner on construction and maintenance sites.
  • Maintaining and monitoring traffic control and safety signage as required.
  • Conducting routine checks on plant equipment to ensure legal and safe operation, including fluid levels and lubrication points.
  • Documenting accurate time sheets and work program information.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Holding a certificate of competency for operating various types of plant such as front-end loaders, backhoes, bobcats, and excavators.
  • Possessing a Victorian Driver License, Construction Induction Card, and recent National Police Check, or being able to obtain these prior to commencement.
  • Having experience in civil construction, maintenance, or concreting works is highly desirable.
  • Having a Heavy Rigid (HR) Driver License endorsement and Traffic Management ticket, or a willingness to obtain these prior to commencement, is highly desirable.
  • Displaying a sound working knowledge of plant and equipment operation, safe use, and maintenance, with the ability to perform manual tasks in accordance with OH&S guidelines.
  • Demonstrating commitment to teamwork, integrity, and respect.
